Looking for a fun, educational and affordable field trip for your class or homeschool group?
Dunwoody Nature Center would like to invite Kindergarten through 5th grade classes and groups to participate in our third annual Mother Earth Day Festival scheduled for Wednesday, April 2nd from 10 am - 1 pm at DNC. Block off Thursday April 3rd, as well, for a rain-date.
For only $30 your whole class may attend this unique educational event (for homeschool students, the fee is $1 per student). Your registration fee must be received by March 14th in order to be a part of the festivities.
Our Mother Earth Day Festival will be a day filled with many different types of activities, games, displays, presentations and educational opportunities for students and teachers alike.
Dunwoody Park will be set up with many different Discovery Stations where students Kindergarten through 5th grade can learn about the importance of the natural world. Past station themes have included:
- Monarchs Across Georgia
- Nocturnal Animals
- Water, Air, & Land Pollution
- Live Animal Demonstrations
- Wonders of Wetlands
- Honey Bees
- Watershed Poetry
- Composting & Worms
- Georgia's Minerals & Geology
- Nature Story Tellers
- Ozone Dodgeball
- Guided Hikes
- Animal Tracks
- and much more
