NITE OWLS
Learn about the lives of owls. Dissect owl pellets, play games, and take an owl hike calling for local species. Meets a variety of wildlife and camping-oriented Boy Scout and Girl Scout requirements. Overnight campers sleep indoors. Evening and overnight options available - the educational program lasts 2.5 hours.
Cost: Minimum payment required - $200 deposit for overnight programs and $150 deposit for evening programs is applied to your total fee, based on the total number of children in the program.

CAMPING 101
Camp in Dunwoody Park and learn the basics of camping. Learn outdoor and fire safety, how to start a fire, how to pitch a tent, and take a night hike to explore the park after dark. Meets most of the Outdoorsman requirements for Webelos and most of the Camp Together requirements for Junior Girl Scouts. Don't have a tent? Rent one! Evening and overnight options available - the educational program lasts 2.5 hours.

Specifics for ALL Overnights...
- One adult per six children must be present.
- Adults are FREE for all programs.
- Overnights are held on-site at DNC. Nite Owls overnight inside the Nature Center building; Camping 101 overnights either in the building or outdoors in the park.
- Children 6 & older only.
- Evening Programs: 7 to 9:30 pm during daylight savings time. During the winter, your program may start earlier.
- Overnight Programs: Arrive at 7:30 pm with the educational program starting at 8 pm during daylight savings time. During the winter, your program may begin earlier. Overnight programs end at 8 am the following day.
- Weather permitting, overnights include a campfire and S'mores. During drought conditions, S'mores may be cooked over a camping stove instead of a campfire.
- DNC is located at 5343 Roberts Drive in DeKalb County's Dunwoody Park (Look for our white sign at the road).

- In case of severe weather, the program may be postponed or cancelled.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What are your operating hours?
Dunwoody Nature Center is open Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm and on some weekends for scheduled programs. Admission to the center and Dunwoody Park is FREE.
When can I schedule a program?
We can accommodate scout trips anytime inside our normal operating hours, Mon - Fri. Need a weekend field trip? For a $30 weekend surcharge, DNC will work with you to meet your group's needs. Schedule evening and overnight programs any evening of the week.
How do I schedule a program?
- Weekday Programs: Pay a non-refundable deposit of $50 at least 1 week prior to your trip date.
- Evenings & Overnights: Pay a non-refundable deposit of $150 for evening programs and $200 for overnights at least 3 weeks prior to your trip date.
- For All Programs: Pay your balance, calculated on the number of scouts or participants who attend, on the day of your visit.
Can we picnic & play in the park before or after the program?
Yes, absolutely! Enjoy Wildcat Creek, our playground and our picnic tables during your visit.
Can our troop become members of Dunwoody Nature Center?
YES! Sign your troop up as a Youth Organization Member of DNC for $75/year. You will receive a discount on overnight programs and 1 complimentary daytime field trip a year (although the $30 weekend and evening surcharge still applies).
