DREAM GREEN! Congratulations to Cory Feig-Sandoval, Molly Huntington, and Jonathan Knope, students who took first place at the Georgia Conservancy's 2008 Youth Environmental Symposium. Their project? A reality-based vision of what a new, energy-efficient "green" building in Dunwoody Park might be like!.

Treehouse Progress!
It's finished!!!!!!
It's finally happening! Thanks to Austin Elementary, many Dunwoody friends, and the DeKalb County Parks Improvement Fund, construction of the treehouse is nearly complete. We look forward to using this covered pavilion as a cool new educational space and a great place to watch wetland birds and wildlife.
We'll celebrate this long-awaited new feature of Dunwoody Nature Center with the Treehouse Tra-La . . . details to come!

To help the wetlands recover from the construction of the treehouse, Scout Jeffrey Heninger from Troop 764 (St. Luke's Presbyterian Church) led a crew of hardy Scouts in planting trees and shrubs. His Eagle Scout project involved extensive research into native plants appropriate for the site, presenting documentation and a site plan to the Nature Center, recruiting and leading volunteer recruits, and watering the new plantings with an adapted pump that recycles water from the creek. Great job!
Who We Are
The Dunwoody Nature Center is a nonprofit 501-c3 organization established by community volunteers in 1990 to develop, improve, and preserve twenty-two acres of DeKalb County’s Dunwoody Park as a natural classroom for environmental education.
The park features a wetland boardwalk, woodland and streamside trails; display gardens; a picnic meadow; and a shaded playground. The park is open sun-up to sundown, seven days a week, free of charge. Dunwoody Nature Center is open Monday – Friday, 9 am to 5 pm and some Saturdays, to provide programs for children and adults.
