Our thanks to the community . . . the 17th annual tour was a resounding success! This popular fundraising event benefiting Dunwoody Nature Center reflects the hard work of the Dunwoody Woman's Club; volunteer DeKalb Master Gardeners who tend to Dunwoody Nature Center's own gardens; host garden homeowners Gloria and Jimmy Lee, Gail and Ray Moss, Joy and Tony Greene, Cindy and Roger Bregenzer, and Annette and Ted Davis; members of the Dunwoody Fine Arts Association for the Artists in the Gardens program; and the many people involved with the Dunwoody Community Garden. Special thanks to Pat Adams, Kathy Hanna, Karen Converse, Marilyn Dalrymple, Su Ellis, and Carolyn Jones for their stellar leadership; the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce for selling tickets; Lipsey Water for supplying water for our tour-goers; Arthur Jones for the ticket logo artwork; Lindy Farley for hosting the Afterglow garden party; and all of the partnering community organizations who provided volunteers to host in the gardens: Spruill Center for the Arts Guild, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Dunwoody Councilman Denny Shortal and Meredy Shortal, Piedmont Bank-Dunwoody, EcoBrokers of Keller Williams Realty, North Springs Neighborhood Woman's Club, Dunwoody Homeowners Association, Kingswood United Methodist Church, Dunwoody Rotary Club, DeKalb Master Gardeners, Spalding Garden Club, Dunwoody Garden Club, Dunwoody Preservation Trust, Brooke Farm-Dunwoody Close Home and Garden Club, and Dunwoody Stage Door Players. Thank you one and all!

Synopsis of 2010 Event

Join us for the seventeenth annual Secret Gardens of Dunwoody Garden Tour benefiting the Dunwoody Nature Center, featuring five gardens in the Dunwoody and Sandy Springs communities. There’s something for everyone — including the personal small-space garden of a landscape designer and an organic food garden where you will share the gardener's passion for sustainability.  The highlight of this year’s tour is an inviting journey through the gardens of Roger and Cindy Bregenzer. On these 3 acres, you will enjoy an herb garden in a fenced courtyard, a hidden garden leading to a wooded area, several outdoor living areas adorned with over 120 varieties of plants -- all surrounding a charming 1852 home and log cabin.

secretgardensOther private gardens opening their gates for the 2010 tour include Jimmy and Gloria Lee's small but perfect artist's garden, Ray and Gail Moss's wildlife sanctuary, Ted and Annette Davis's exquisite garden on a lake, and Tony and Joy Greene's woodland trail to the river.  Artists from the Dunwoody Fine Arts Association will again be painting in the gardens this year.  Guests will also be invited to the new Dunwoody Community Garden at Brook Run, where members will be on hand to answer questions.

We Invite You To Enjoy the Special Features of this Year's Tour

Secret Treasures Boutique Featuring enticing garden-themed items for guests to purchase for themselves or for gifting.  The boutique will be housed in the guest cottage at the Bregenzer garden.
